Job summary

RTX's Effector RF Design (ERFD) Department seeks a Senior Principal RF Mechanical Engineer to serve as a Section Lead for RF Mechanical. This 100% onsite Tucson, AZ role combines hands-on technical contributions with functional leadership across RF hardware development.

Approximately 85% of time is spent on engineering programs across the full lifecycle, with 15% focused on leading a section, coaching and staff development. A DoD Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing/analysing RF product packaging (CCA, antennas, radomes, harnesses) across the lifecycle.
• Ability to lead a team and manage technical programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead a section of 10–20 RF Electronics engineers; provide coaching and career development.
• Perform performance management, 1:1s, and workforce planning.
• Recruit, hire, onboarding, and workforce planning support.
