Job summary

Saab AB in East Syracuse, NY is seeking a Principal Program Manager to drive profitable execution of large-scale development programs in the Surveillance division, onsite at our East Syracuse office. The candidate will bring extensive experience in radar systems and leadership across cost, schedule and technical performance.

Responsibilities include establishing budgets, applying EVMS, pursuing new business opportunities, developing competitive proposals, mentoring junior PMs and collaborating

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Program Management experience in aerospace/defense.
• Extensive experience negotiating multi-million dollar agreements with large Aerospace and Defense customers.
• Demonstrated track record leading large scale aerospace and defense business capture efforts.
• Advanced knowledge of program management standards (scheduling, cost accounting, EVMS, Risk/Opportunity management).
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% in support of program and business.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Own the cost, schedule and technical performance of assigned program portfolios.
• Establish and control program budgets aligned with program needs.
• Ensure projects are managed within approved PM processes.
• Make personnel recommendations to support business objectives.
• Drive Earned Value Management principles and use EVMS to report program status.
• Identify and pursue significant new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with Sales and Product Management to maintain competitive market knowledge.
• Develop competitive proposals and coordinate resources across design and manufacturing.
• Lead and mentor program execution staff for high-quality deliverables.
