Job summary

Saab AB in East Syracuse, NY seeks a Principal Program Manager to lead profitable development programs within the Surveillance division. On-site role requiring deep radar systems experience and strong program management discipline.

The candidate will drive growth, manage budgets and EVMS, and collaborate across Sales, Product Management, and engineering to deliver high-quality, on-time systems for defense and commercial customers. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of Program Management experience in aerospace/defense.
• Experience negotiating multi-million dollar agreements with major customers.
• Track record leading large aerospace/defense capture efforts.
• Advanced knowledge of scheduling, cost accounting, EVMS, and risk/opportunity management.
• Ability to lead strategic initiatives supporting business objectives.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for cost, schedule and technical performance of assigned program portfolios.
• Establish and control program budgets aligned with needs.
• Ensure projects are managed within approved PM processes.
• Make personnel recommendations to support objectives.
• Drive EVMS and report program status internally and externally.
• Identify and pursue significant new business opportunities.
• Develop competitive proposals and collaborate across functions.
• Grow customer relationships and engage industry primes.
• Provide leadership to the program execution staff and mentor junior PMs.
