Saab AB in East Syracuse, New York is seeking a Principal Program Manager to lead profitable development programs within the Surveillance division. The role focuses on large-scale radar systems and requires strong experience in program management, cost/schedule control, and EVMS-driven reporting.

You will develop business growth strategies, pursue new opportunities, and coordinate with Sales, Product Management, and customers to deliver high-quality, on-time programs while maintaining compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of Program Management experience, $50M – $100M+ program lifecycle in aerospace/defense.
• Extensive experience negotiating multi-million dollar agreements with large Aerospace and Defense customers.
• Demonstrated track record leading large scale aerospace and defense business capture efforts.
• Must possess advanced knowledge of program management standards (scheduling, cost accounting, EVMS, Risk/Opportunity management).
• Willingness to travel up to 25% in support of program and business.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for cost, schedule and technical performance of assigned program portfolios.
• Establish and control program budgets aligned with program needs.
• Ensure all projects are managed within approved PM processes.
• Make personnel recommendations in support of business objectives.
• Drive Earned Value Management principles and use EVMS to report program status.
• Identify and pursue significant new business opportunities.
• Develop competitive proposals and coordinate with Sales & Product Management.
• Collaborate with all functions to leverage program execution and capture strategies.
• Grow relationships with customers and industry primes to extend existing programs.
• Provide leadership to program execution staff to ensure high-quality delivery; develop PM talent.
