AbbVie is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer in Plastics Molding who provides enterprise-level technical leadership for injection and blow molding across pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical devices, and biologics. You will lead medium- to large-scale projects from concept to qualification and sustained support in a hybrid environment.

The role requires deep plastics knowledge, hands-on tooling and automation design, and collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams; travel up to 40%

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Engineering, Science, or related field.
• 8-10 years of significant engineering/operational experience in regulated environments.
• 3+ years of plastic injection/blow molding design and process support.
• Knowledge of molding equipment, resins, tooling, inspection, SPC, and ISO requirements.
• Experience with tooling/automation design, supplier management, FMEA, DOE, FAT, and validation.

Responsabilités

• Lead medium- to large-sized molding projects from concept through qualification and sustainment.
• Develop injection- and blow-molding solutions meeting product, quality, cost, and regulatory expectations.
• Provide technical direction on equipment, tooling, automation, resin selection, and process development.
• Conduct risk assessments and communicate project status and risk-based decisions to management.
• Support supplier selection, performance, and technical issue resolution for molds and tooling.
