Job summary

AbbVie seeks a Senior Principal Engineer, Plastics Molding, to provide enterprise-level leadership in injection and blow molding for pharmaceutical manufacturing and medical devices. The role focuses on robust, compliant, scalable molding solutions and close partnerships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Responsibilities include leading complex projects through design, qualification, and validation; guiding tooling, equipment, and process development; and ensuring quality and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of engineering/operational experience in regulated environments.
• 3+ years of plastic injection/blow molding design and support experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium- to large-sized molding projects from concept to validation.
• Develop and implement injection- and blow-molding solutions meeting quality, cost, and regulatory needs.
• Provide technical direction on equipment, tooling, automation, resin selection, and readiness.
• Lead risk assessments, life-cycle costs, and communicate decisions to management.
• Support supplier selection, performance, and issue resolution for molds and related services.
