Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Principal Protection & Control Engineer within our Project Management Organization in Florida. You will design electrical protection and control systems for generation, transmission, and distribution, ensuring quality and cost effectiveness.

The role requires leading and mentoring engineers, delivering complete design packages, presenting solutions to clients, and guiding technical direction for Relay Settings and related projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering required; international degrees considered.
• At least 15 years of electrical engineering experience with protection and control.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete engineering design packages for protective relaying and communications.
• Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters and engineers.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior-level clients and management.
• Present technical solutions to customers and address real-time technical concerns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups to implement technical solutions.
• Set technical direction for Relay Settings and influence peers.
• Lead projects with critical thinking on high-impact problems.
• Assign and review tasks, and mentor junior engineers.
• Plan and prioritize work of other engineers.
• Contribute to internal training materials.
• Oversee QA/QC processes for protection and control activities.
