Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Roy, UT is seeking a Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the Command and Launch Infrastructure Integration team for the Sentinel GBSD program. The engineer will work within an IPT to develop PDPs and coordinate with suppliers, customers and other technical disciplines.

The role emphasizes CAD modeling, deployable mechanisms, and ensuring PDPs meet design requirements, with on-site support and a 9/80 work schedule along with relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Requires a U.S. citizenship with an active security clearance or higher adjudicated within the past 6 years.
• Requires a Bachelors in STEM and 8 years of related experience; a Masters with 6 years; or a PhD with 4 years.
• Experience with system integration and test principles and with development/qualification testing.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement deployable mechanical mechanisms verified through test/analysis.
• Develop CAD models visualizing design solutions.
• Implement PDP development and approval processes for PDPs.
• Deliver PDPs on time to meet program objectives.
• Integrate PDPs with element teams to prevent disconnects and clashes.
• Identify design/requirement gaps and provide cost-effective resolutions.
• Support PDP development and release aligned with design requirements.
