Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Roy, UT team supporting the Sentinel program. You will design, develop, and deploy launch-equipment hardware and systems, collaborating with users, customers, and engineers to deliver high-performance mechanical solutions.

The role requires CAD expertise (Siemens NX), Team Center experience, and a current U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Sr. Principal level requires a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s with 6 years of experience
• Requires U.S. Citizenship with an Active Secret Security Clearance or higher
• Requires the ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period of time
• Requires a minimum 5 years of experience with CAD modeling (Siemens NX preferred)
• Requires a minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering that includes a background in mechanical systems (mechanisms preferred)
• Requires experience with ISO/ASME/Mil Spec/NAS standards

Responsabilités

• Primary role as a mechanical designer for mechanical systems (mechanisms) design on a major Northrop Grumman Defense Systems program
• Research, plan, design, and develop mechanical/aerospace products for aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, missiles, ground vehicles and related test equipment
• Develop CAD models and 3D drawings using Siemens NX and Team Center
• Verify specifications through modeling, simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis
• Support all phases of the systems lifecycle: design, drawings, fabrication, test, installation, operation and maintenance
• Design components/systems and perform sizing analyses for stress and dynamic analysis of aerospace structures
• Prepare and present reports, design documents and interface with customers
• Attend meetings, customer exchanges, and supplier briefings; present design status at milestones
• Assist IPT lead in scheduling and mentoring junior engineers
