RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Senior Principal High Temperature Materials Engineer to lead material decisions, drive strategy, and coordinate multi-project efforts. This onsite role focuses on high-temperature metals, ceramics, coatings, and environmental barrier coatings within advanced materials programs.

Qualifications

• Requires a university degree or equivalent and 7–10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in design and development (materials or mechanical projects).
• ABET is the preferred accreditation standard.

Responsibilities

• Define program or product line strategy and drive execution across programs.
• Serve as SME to determine technologies for growth in high temperature applications.
• Lead teams to create high-fidelity simulations and models for missile system design and analysis.
• Mentor engineers and provide empirical guidance.
• Solve high-temperature materials challenges independently or with teams.
• Advocate for technical integrity in high-temperature materials disciplines.
