Job summary

RTX, via Collins Aerospace, seeks a Senior Principal Hardware Engineering Lead for its Strategic Communications and Precision Navigation team. This onsite role requires deep hardware expertise, leadership, and the ability to drive secure communication systems from concept through deployment.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in hardware, strong RF/microwave knowledge, and hands-on experience with EVMS and complex programs. U.S. citizenship and security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in hardware engineering with 4+ years leading hardware teams.
• Proven track record from concept to production.
• Strong RF/microwave, radar electronics packaging and mechanical design.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience with EVMS on externally reported programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware design and development for protected communication and precision navigation systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions meeting requirements.
• Oversee hardware development lifecycle from concept to production and deployment.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Oversee testing and validation to ensure standards and customer specs.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies to drive secure hardware innovations.
• Interface with customers and stakeholders for requirements and updates.
