Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineering Lead to drive the design, development, and validation of advanced protected communication and precision navigation hardware. The role requires hands-on leadership across the full hardware lifecycle, from concept to production, with strong collaboration across program management, software, systems, and test engineering.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in hardware engineering with ≥2 years leading IPT/CAM/work packages.
• Proven track record delivering hardware from concept to production.
• Strong RF and microwave, radar, electronics packaging, and mechanical design knowledge.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Experience with EVMS on externally reported programs (EACs, LRE, variance narratives).
• Degree in STEM; advanced degree with 3+ years preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware design and development for protected communication and precision navigation systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions meeting customer requirements.
• Oversee hardware development lifecycle from concept through production and deployment.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Oversee testing and validation to ensure compliance with standards and specs.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies to drive secure hardware innovations.
• Interface with customers to gather requirements and provide project updates.
