Mercury Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Hardware Electrical Engineer to lead end-to-end digital hardware initiatives across rugged aerospace and defense programs. You will own architecture, design decisions, and system-level tradeoffs in a hands-on, high‑reliability environment.

The role emphasizes Rad-hard/rad-tolerant space electronics, secure processing, and advanced interfaces (400G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen5+, DDR5+).

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• Typically requires 10+ years relevant electrical board design including complex embedded digital hardware from concept through production
• Experience with high-speed and high-performance interfaces, memory technologies, and next generation interconnects
• Experience with signal integrity
• US Citizenship is required

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership and execution for complex digital hardware programs from concept through production
• Architect advanced electrical circuit solutions involving secure processing, storage, networking, FPGAs, high-speed interfaces, and extreme environment electronics
• Develop advanced high-speed digital design including 400G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen5+, DDR5+, and modern interconnects
• Contribute to engineering best practices, design guidelines, and process improvements that scale across the organization
• Execute the development and verification of highly complex circuits, modules, and systems
• Advise senior leadership on technical risks, cost, schedule, and strategic direction
