Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to architect and lead ruggedized board-level hardware for advanced embedded computing in aerospace and defense.

You will drive high-speed digital designs (400G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen5+, DDR5+), mentor engineers, and ensure DFM/DFT and reliability through reviews and verification. Based on a collaborative Integrator Mindset, you will partner across sites to deliver robust hardware that supports national security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required.
• 6+ years of electrical engineering experience in board-level hardware design.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces (400G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen5+, DDR5+).
• Mentoring and cross-functional collaboration are valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead board-level design and development of complex digital circuits from concept to production.
• Architect board solutions with secure processing and FPGA technologies for extreme environments.
• Develop high-speed digital board designs including 400G+ Ethernet and PCIe Gen5+.
• Establish best practices, verification, and high-reliability processes.
• Support proposals with architectures, cost and schedule estimates (BOE).
• Drive DFM/ DFA/ DFT and collaborate with manufacturing on issues.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration across systems, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
