Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to integrate rugged server systems, validating PCIe, USB, SATA, and Ethernet interfaces while designing PCBs and power distribution for optimal system performance.

The role emphasizes hands-on bring-up, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration across mechanical, test, software, and systems teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of hardware development experience.
• Hands-on power supply and high-current system design.
• Schematic design using Cadence DEHDL/Concept or similar tools.
• Understanding of signal integrity principles and best practices.
• Strong cross-disciplinary communication and ability to lead technical efforts.
• Access to export-controlled information; US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical integration of rugged server systems, including boards.
• Own system level power architecture and integration of commercial power supplies.
• Integrate risers, cabling, add-in cards, and high-speed interfaces.
• Perform targeted PCB design including riser cards, power distribution boards, and fan/control modules.
• Address signal integrity issues and recommend cables, layouts, or river-based solutions when needed.
• Support thermal management by developing or integrating fan control solutions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, test, software, and systems teams to ensure full system compliance.
• Lead debug and root-cause analysis across power, thermal, and high-speed digital domains.
• Develop system electrical specifications, integration plans, and test procedures.
