Job summary

RTX’s Effector Digital Products (EDP) team seeks a Senior Principal FPGA Design Engineer to craft FPGA designs across major vendors, implementing VHDL for RF/EO DSP, data links, and embedded processing. You will collaborate with circuit card designers and systems engineers from requirements through deployment.

The role emphasizes architecture, verification, and documentation, with 100% onsite work in Tucson, AZ, and a path toward advanced DoD-secured programs.

Qualifications

• STEM degree with 10+ years of FPGA experience.
• System-level FPGA requirements specification and architecture development.
• Basis of estimate generation, resource identification, and constraint-based schedule planning.
• Strong hand-off requirements for system requirements, configurable logic, software, and tests.
• FPGA/ASIC design or verification using VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Experience with Xilinx or Microsemi devices and flow tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead FPGA-based systems architecture and design from concept to production.
• Establish processes and operational plans for a project.
• Drive projects to meet schedules on time and budget.
• Lead large cross-product teams on multi-year programs.
• Develop and verify highly complex configurable logic solutions.
