Job summary

RTX’s Effector Digital Products (EDP) team in Tucson, AZ seeks a Principal FPGA Design Engineer to design and verify FPGA/ASIC solutions using VHDL/Verilog for RF/EO processing and embedded systems. You will work with Xilinx, Microsemi devices, and lead system-level integration with engineers across disciplines.

This on-site role requires ability to obtain DoD security clearance (SECRET) and relocation is offered. The salary range reflects experience and government requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of FPGA/ASIC experience.
• FPGA/ASIC design or verification using VHDL and/or Verilog.
• Experience with Xilinx or Microsemi devices and tools.
• Delivers FPGA/ASIC solutions to system-level applications.
• Hands-on integration and debugging of FPGA/ASIC devices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver production-quality FPGA releases from initial proof of concept to production.
• Architect FPGA-based systems to determine parts, interfaces, and CONOPS.
• Translate system-level requirements into FPGA requirements.
• Design and code in VHDL for reliability and maintainability.
• Verify designs using directed and constrained random tests with traceable coverage.
• Drive projects and manage schedules to meet time and budget constraints.
• Create complete documentation including requirements and verification plans.
• Support internal and external technical reviews and customer interactions.
