Job summary

Apex Companies seeks a Senior Principal Engineer Manager to lead multidisciplinary infrastructure projects across Washington. Based in Vancouver, Richland, or Walla Walla, WA, you will grow our presence, mentor engineers, and partner with clients to deliver high-quality design from planning through construction.

You’ll manage budgets, schedules, and teams, drive business development, and represent the firm at industry events while ensuring safety, schedule, and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 15+ years of progressive transportation project experience in Washington and Oregon.
• PE license in WA and OR (or ability to obtain within six months).
• Experience leading multidisciplinary transportation design projects from pursuit through construction.
• Strong knowledge of WSDOT Design Manual, AASHTO, MUTCD, and local standards.
• Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and client management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Proven business development and client relationship experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager for multidisciplinary infrastructure projects with budgets over $3 million annually.
• Help pursue and capture over $2 million in annual Washington/Oregon business development.
• Lead infrastructure business development for SW/Eastern Washington and northwest regions.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships; identify new opportunities.
• Serve as Project Manager/Principal-in-Charge from planning to construction.
• Oversee scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Provide technical leadership for roadway, highway, intersections, bridges, multimodal projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across disciplines.
• Mentor engineers and project managers to grow capabilities.
• Represent the firm at client meetings and industry events.
