Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer in Winston-Salem, NC to lead the development of seating controls, power supplies, and peripheral electronics for business and first-class seating configurations.

You will oversee the hardware lifecycle from pursuit to factory transition, including design, integration, verification, and certification activities, with collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering with 10+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 7+ years.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with serial communications protocols: CAN Bus, RS-485, Ethernet.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead LRU development through all design phases.
• Design and analyze Circuit Card Assemblies for seating actuation and peripherals.
• Work with lab equipment for hardware integration testing.
• Schematic capture of complex digital, analog, and mixed-signal designs.
• Oversee Printed Circuit Board layout.
• Apply Design to Cost, DFM, and DFT principles.
• Mentor and delegate tasks to engineers.
• Support qualification and certification of LRUs.
• Assist RCCA analysis and reporting for field returns.
