Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Engineering Design to join our Annapolis, MD team. The role focuses on Model Based Definition in NX and Teamcenter in the Design Services group, delivering complex assemblies and detailed parts for major systems.

The ideal candidate will integrate with cross-functional teams, manage design data, and ensure conformance to ASME standards and PLM processes while supporting Top Secret clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM field; MS degree may substitute.
• 3+ years (or more) in design engineering roles with 3D CAD, PLM, and GD&T experience.
• Experience with CAD data management and releasing models/drawings in a PLM environment.

Responsibilities

• Designs major components or major portions of a functional system.
• Develops basic data, layouts, sketches and notes for design proposals.
• Investigates factors like manufacturability, material availability, and cost implications.
• Coordinates with other organizations involved in design development.
• Creates layouts of complex assemblies and evaluates design integrity.
