Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Engineering Design to join our Annapolis, MD team. The role centers on designing major components and assemblies and coordinating with cross-functional groups to deliver robust product definitions.

Candidates must hold a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience (or an MS with 6+ years), possess a Secret clearance able to obtain Top Secret clearance, and have hands-on experience with 3D CAD modeling and PLM tools such as Siemens

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field with 8+ years of experience or MS with 6+ years.
• US citizen with Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance with SAP approval.
• 3 years experience with 3D CAD modeling tools.
• 3 years experience developing and releasing engineering models and drawings.
• Experience with model-based engineering Digital Product Definition Packages.
• Familiarity with GD&T interpretation and CAD/PLM standards.

Responsibilities

• Designs major components or portions of a functional system for product development and manufacturing.
• Develops data, sketches, and notes to present design proposals.
• Considers manufacturability, materials availability, and cost in design decisions.
• Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development.
• Creates layouts of complex assemblies and documents parts and devices.
• Identifies design issues and recommends revisions to responsible engineers.
