Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Principal Engineering Design to join our team. The role focuses on learning Model Based Definition in NX and Teamcenter, delivering model-based definitions, and designing major components for advanced systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a STEM field, TS clearance, and hands-on CAD/PLM experience, with strong cross-organizational communication. Relocation assistance may be available; travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field with 5+ years of experience; or MS with 3 years.
• U.S. citizen with Top Secret clearance and SAP eligibility.
• 3 years experience with 3D CAD modeling tools.
• 3 years experience developing and releasing engineering models/drawings.
• 3 years experience delivering model-based engineering in PDM/PLM.
• Experience with CAD in a PLM system and ASME drawing standards.
• Familiarity with GD&T interpretation.
• Strong communication across large, diverse organizations.

Responsibilities

• Designs major components or major portions of a system to develop or improve products.
• Develops layouts, sketches and notes to present design proposals.
• Assesses manufacturability, material availability, interchangeability and cost.
• Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development.
• Creates layouts of complex assemblies and parts.
• Identifies design issues and proposes revisions to engineers.
