Job summary

Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Consultant to join the Process Pressure Vessels team. The role focuses on analysis, life prediction, and condition assessment of pressure vessels, piping, and related equipment used in refining and chemical industries.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or similar with 5–10 years industry experience.
• PE license in one or more states preferred.
• Experience with ASME Boiler, Pressure Vessel, and Piping Code (Section VIII, Div. 1–3; B31.3) is a plus.
• SolidWorks, Abaqus, and fracture mechanics concepts familiarity.
• Piping stress analyses using CAESAR II is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication Skills; proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform design life assessment, root cause failure analysis and evaluations for stationary equipment.
• Conduct thermal and structural stress analyses on pressure vessels, piping and plant structures using classical and FEA methods.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor entry level engineers in stress analysis, life assessment, and codes/standards.
• Assist in field inspections and risk-based inspection method development.
• Develop and expand business opportunities with existing clients and propose new opportunities.
