Job summary

Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Consultant to join the Process Pressure Vessels team.

Remote or office-based, you will perform design relief, life assessment, and failure analysis of pressure vessels, piping, and storage tanks for the upstream/downstream petroleum industries. You will mentor junior engineers, apply ASME and API standards, and develop technical reports and client presentations, while participating in ongoing training and professional

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 years or more industry related experience.
• ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel and Piping Code experience (Section VIII Div 1-3) and B31.3 is a plus.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks, Abaqus, and CAESAR II; piping stress analysis experience is a plus.
• Professional Engineering license in one or more states is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations for design, life assessment, and root-cause failure analysis of stationary equipment.
• Conduct thermal heat transfer and structural stress analyses of vessels, piping and structures using classical and FEA methods.
• Perform simple pressure vessel calculations with PV-Elite and/or Compress.
• Mentor entry-level engineers in stress analysis, life assessment, and codes/standards (ASME & API).
• Prepare technical reports and presentations and support large-scale projects.
