Hargrove, a leading engineering and construction company, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer in Baton Rouge to perform complete design work on complex assignments. You will apply advanced techniques, lead a small team, and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure timely project delivery.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of industrial mechanical experience, a Bachelor or Master in Mechanical Engineering, and a Professional Engineer license preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of design standards and codes.
• Knowledge, application and specification of materials.
• Development of piping material and material procurement specifications.
• Knowledge of good design practices for sizing all piping systems.
• Sizing of compressible fluid piping systems.
• Flexibility and stress analysis of all piping systems.
• Specify criteria for and select piping items.
• Design of complex process and utility systems.
• Knowledge of valve sizing and piping supports.
• Knowledge of HVAC system design and codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete mechanical design for complex assignments.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced staff.
• Develop construction specifications and procurement documents.
• Review vendor drawings for mechanical input and conformance.
• Coordinate with design leaders across disciplines to ensure timely completion.
• Produce detailed calculations and sketches for construction.
• Assist drafting group with layout and detailing problems.
