Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation in Marion, OH, seeks a Senior Press Room Engineer to lead engineering direction for stamping and press room operations onsite. The role focuses on driving OEE, reliability, safety, and cost reduction across high-tonnage presses and automated lines.

You will partner with maintenance, tooling, and die shop teams to resolve complex issues, implement Kaizens, and manage capital projects and upgrades while upholding OSHA standards and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• 4+ years of engineering experience in metal stamping or high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering direction and technical support for press room operations (Transmat presses, automatic presses, multi-press lines).
• Drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), throughput, and availability improvements across press lines.
• Lead and support WCM pillars: Autonomous Maintenance, Professional Maintenance, Safety, and Focused Improvement.
• Perform root-cause analysis on production and quality losses and implement Kaizen countermeasures.
• Manage technical specs, timelines, and vendor relationships for press rebuilds and automated upgrades.
• Collaborate with die shop, maintenance, and vendors on repairs and tooling changes.
• Drive safety risk reduction and perform Job Safety Risk Assessments across operations.
