Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Presales Engineer in the United States to manage presale opportunities and implement complex projects across public safety and enterprise markets. You will work with the Sales Team to deliver end-to-end solutions, from scope definition to project close.

The role requires a 4+ year background in sales, sales engineering, or public safety, or 8+ years of experience, with LMR experience highly preferred. Travel up to 25% and strong communications skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of sales, sales engineering, or public safety experience
• Or 8+ years of sales, sales engineering, or public safety experience
• LMR experience highly preferred
• Strong written and oral communications; ability to present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
• Knowledge of wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures (APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3G/4G) is desirable
• Knowledge of IP networking architecture, protocols and security is desirable

Responsibilities

• Working with the Sales Team to deliver customer-driven, end-to-end solutions for first responder, government, utility, transport and enterprise customers across the country
• Defines directions and requirements to ensure timely implementation and quality of technical solutions
• Provide engineering services including commissioning and testing Motorola equipment per requirements, documentation and contracts
• Preparation of system bids considering customer needs and product availability, with modifications as needed
• Collaborate with operations and other developers of networking products to meet delivery requirements and deadlines
