Job summary

Amazon Inc. Global Engineering Services NA Design & Construction is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager to serve as Amazon's senior owner's representative during the preconstruction phase.

You will autonomously manage complex, cross-functional industrial pre-construction projects—from site selection and validation through design management, permitting, and contract execution—for new builds, retrofits, expansions, and program initiatives across your assigned region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 7+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, construction management, development, or related disciplines.
• 7+ years of project management experience from design through implementation and operation, including negotiating contracts.
• Experience with packaging, processing, or logistical facilities with complex equipment.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously manage cross-functional industrial pre-construction projects from site selection through design completion, permitting, and contract execution.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Entitlements, Construction, Finance, Launch/Startup, architects, engineers, permitting agencies, developers, and landlords to secure resources and milestones.
• Oversee design management end-to-end, including design evaluations, conformance reviews, and value engineering.
• Own project budgets and oversee spend approvals; perform conceptual estimating, pricing reviews, schedule tracking, and cashflow forecasting.
• Lead external partner selection, contract negotiations, and project procurement functions.
• Coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction for permitting, compliance, and code requirements.
