Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction team seeks a Preconstruction Manager to act as owner's representative during preconstruction. You will manage cross-functional industrial preconstruction projects—site selection, validation, design management, permitting, and contract execution—for new builds, retrofits, expansions, and programs across your region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in architecture, engineering, construction management, development, or related role.
• Experience with design, permitting, and contract management in industrial facilities.
• Ability to travel up to 60% within assigned regions.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage cross-functional industrial pre-construction projects from site selection through design, permitting, and contract execution.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Entitlements, Construction, Finance, Launch/Startup, and external stakeholders.
• Lead site selection, validation, scope development and design management aligning with standards.
• Own budget tracking, schedule management, and cashflow forecasting across projects.
• Manage vendor procurement and oversee professional service providers for entitlements.
• Coordinate with AHJ for permitting, zoning, fire and building code requirements.
• Prepare and present project status and risk reports for leadership.
