Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Partner in Seattle, WA, to standardize preconstruction, estimating, and risk management across E&TS platforms. You will coach teams, refine tools, and align contract practices with regional and national goals.

Your expertise in design-to-build workflows, procurement, and risk mitigation will drive profitable outcomes while coordinating with Legal, Financial, and Engineering stakeholders. A strong leadership presence is essential.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Strong business acumen and financial management knowledge.
• Twelve years of experience in construction, project management, estimating or preconstruction.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced knowledge of CM and cost estimating software tools such as Autodesk, Procore, InEight.
• Strong project financial skills including POC accounting, revenue timing and cash-flow modeling.
• Understanding of energy and construction contracts and risk items.
• Proven ability to lead diverse groups including executives and regional leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and drive standards into regional offices.
• Strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead standardized delivery of preconstruction, estimating, and risk management across all units to ensure high-quality, profitable outcomes.
• Provide coaching, training, and mentorship across regions and project phases.
• Develop and maintain national and regional subcontractor/partner relationships; standardize contract terms and negotiate pricing.
• Coordinate contract reviews with Legal, Technical, Financial SMEs and lead client/subcontractor negotiations.
• Ensure seamless transition from sales to build teams and support large-scale projects.
• Develop implementation plans for standardization initiatives and share strategies across the org.
