Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Associate to support and coordinate preconstruction activities for utility-scale wind, solar, and storage projects. You will work under the Director and alongside Senior Project Managers to de-risk and prepare projects for construction.

This role emphasizes schedule tracking, documentation, design reviews, permits, and interconnection planning, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration, risk assessment, and ensuring timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; engineering degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in Renewable Energy construction, engineering, and project management; PMP certification preferred.
• Experience with wind, solar, and/or BESS civil design, permitting, interconnection, or BoP/EPC contracting; familiarity with CPM scheduling; process-improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Support preconstruction readiness by tracking priorities, schedules, deliverables, and action items across multiple projects from ~30% design through mobilization, owning portions of documentation workflows.
• Prepare status reports, risk/issue logs, and concise summaries for senior staff, validating permit/drawing statuses to flag delays.
• Identify risks and options for LCOE and value-engineering reviews, supporting cost and schedule optimization through cross-functional collaboration.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables and design reviews with Engineering and third-party engineers to meet completion levels and RWE standards.
• Gather project inputs and track topographic/ALTA survey completion, coordinating questions to keep design on schedule.
