Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking an SrEngineer I, Electrical Projects to oversee electrical systems design for onshore wind, solar and storage projects. You will design balance of plant packages, support projects through development and construction, and ensure grid code compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder coordination, and a focus on safety and standards. Office-based with travel to other offices and field locations.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years post-undergraduate electrical engineering experience.
• Experience in transmission, substation, collection and distribution design; power system studies; protection and control.
• Renewable generation project design experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; able to manage customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Design balance of plant packages during development.
• Support engineering projects during pre-construction, construction, turnover to Operations.
• Ensure grid code compliance and interconnection requirements.
• Specify and evaluate major electrical equipment.
• Perform power system modeling and studies.
• Coordinate project engineering topics during construction.
• Manage third-party engineering consultants.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders across the project lifecycle.
• Incorporate health, safety, and environmental standards into designs.
