Job summary

McKinstry in Seattle, WA is seeking a Director of Preconstruction to lead the estimating and preconstruction efforts for its growing Prime MEP division. You will supervise a team, drive cost and process improvements, and coordinate with business unit leaders to set up projects.

The role requires a ten-year background in electrical construction, a bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or construction management, and proficiency with Office apps and estimating platforms.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency for all responsibilities of a Pre-Construction leader and estimating manager.
• Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Visio; SharePoint preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares quantitative estimates using McKinstry estimating platforms.
• Manages conceptual and quantitative estimating processes.
• Drives technology initiatives into processes for the group.
• Manages SOPs and Project Lifecycle requirements for cost and preconstruction tasks.
• Coordinates with Business Unit Managers, Project Executives and Project Managers to ensure project setup and execution.
• Directs internal pre-construction processes and trains team on cost methods and platforms.
• Coaches and develops pre-construction staff and manages personnel development.
• Ensures cohesive integration of the preconstruction team into Electrical Business Units.
