Job summary

Everpure, a data platform leader, is hiring a Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer to support our Higher Education business, with a focus on R1 research universities. You will be the technical lead on these accounts, working with account managers, specialists, and partners to translate requirements into defendable solutions, technically and financially.

Location options include MA / NY / PA; you will engage with CIOs, research computing staff, central IT, finance, and procurement to move

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience across technology, solution design, and customer-facing communication.
• Pre-sales or customer-facing technical experience.
• Broad depth across two or more of cloud, HPC, AI/ML infra, data management, core infra, analytics, or business apps.

Responsibilities

• Develop a real understanding of what drives each institution: research priorities, funding cycles, and decision makers.
• Connect technology, including the Everpure portfolio, to measurable research outcomes.
• Move between investigators, IT, CIOs, finance, and procurement, tailoring conversations.
• Build the business case: total cost of ownership, power and cooling, data center footprint, staff time.
• Support research workloads end to end, from instrument and HPC pipelines to long-term retention.
• Help customers address data management questions, governance, and security requirements such as NIST 800-171/CMMC.
• Lead evaluations, benchmarks, proofs of concept, and system configurations to secure the technical win.
• Capture requirements and translate them into solutions that grow research capability.
