Job summary

Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Sr. Grants & Contracts Analyst in the Pediatrics department to manage pre-award and post-award activities for sponsored projects.

You will handle proposal prep, budget development, and account oversight to ensure compliance and timely reporting. This hybrid role involves collaboration with ORA, SPSS, and central finance teams, with complex awards across federal and foundation sponsors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Four years of related experience in sponsored research and/or financial positions.
• Education/experience substitution per JHU equivalency formula.
• Completion of the Research Administration Training Program (13-15 months) may substitute for two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct complex award management activities including monitoring and managing accounts, audits, evaluations and reporting.
• Partner with faculty and budget staff and ORA for planning and development of submissions to federal agencies, private foundations, and industry partners.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies for pre-award and sponsor guidelines.
• Review proposals for accuracy and adherence before submission.
• Prepare timely budgets for PI review.
• Serve as liaison between research units, central offices and funding agencies.
• Review budgets and justifications for completeness.
• Assist with subcontract negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines, COI, and internal protocols.
• Provide updates and reporting on current awards to PIs and leadership.
• Manage post-award processes including award setup and account verification.
• Ensure post-award tasks such as budget distribution, cost transfers, and finalization of subcontract paperwork.
• Assist with closeouts as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
