Job summary

Harbinger Motors Inc. is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead the design and development of key powertrain systems, including Electric Drive Units and IC engines.

You will guide complex projects from concept through lifecycle and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with manufacturing and quality teams. The role requires a strong track record in automotive powertrain design, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and proficiency in CATIA and FEA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering required; minimum 10 years in mechanical design in automotive industry.
• Owning multiple powertrain systems from concept through life cycle in automotive context.
• Experience with Electric Drive Units (EDUs) and Internal Combustion (IC) engines.
• Deep understanding of powertrain manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in 3D CAD (CATIA preferred) and FEA; experience with rotating components.
• Clear communicator with track record delivering complex projects under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of powertrain systems, including Electric and IC engines.
• Break down complex technical challenges and mentor junior engineers.
• Establish standards and best practices for FEAs, design guidelines, and calculations.
• Support in-service products with failure investigations and cost-reduction efforts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality to ensure output and ramp plans.
• Deliver high-quality, independent work and meet project timelines.
• Clearly communicate complex technical information to cross-functional audiences.
