Job summary

Harbinger, headquartered in Garden Grove, CA, is seeking a Senior Powertrain Test Engineer to drive system-level testing of electric motors and drive units. You will develop robust test rigs, write automated test software, and partner with stakeholders to ensure repeatable, safe, and data-rich validation processes.

The role emphasizes electrical, mechanical, and software integration, instrumentation, and data acquisition, with a focus on efficiency, safety, and innovation in an EV powertrain

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of validation testing and system integration experience.
• Experience with NI hardware (PXIe-RT, cRIO, cDAQ) and real-time/FPGA coding.
• Strong understanding of EV powertrains and dynamometer test cells.
• Proficient in automation software development and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute component and system-level development and validation tests of electric motors and drive units.
• Maximize testing efficiency and data integrity through advanced methodologies, software and test automation.
• Design and construct electrical control panels for automated test systems.
• Develop and maintain automated test software using LabVIEW or other programming environments for test hardware control.
• Leverage data analysis to reproduce and characterize failures for rapid issue resolution.
• Design and architect dynamometers and HIL systems for development testing of powertrains.
• Document system designs, schematics, software logic, and test procedures.
