Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced senior electrical engineer for the Electrical Analytical Division. The role combines protection calculations, relay settings for HV/EHV systems, and generator/transformer protection studies. Hybrid work options apply, with on-site office collaboration and remote duties.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Electrical Engineering, 7+ years in protection, and familiarity with ETAP/SKM/Aspen and relay software; PE exam is a plus and PE licensure is valued by clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; background in Power/Power Systems. Master’s/PhD preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in power-system protection.
• Experience with microprocessor relays (SEL/Beckwith/GE/ABB) and electro-mechanical relays.
• Experience with relay software (SEL AcSELerator, GE Enervista).
• Experience with generator, transformer, and motor protection studies.

Responsibilities

• Perform protection system calculations & analysis for diverse clients.
• Develop relay settings for HV/EHV substations, transmission lines, and machines.
• Assist clients in complying with NERC PRC standards.
• Conduct relaying event report analysis.
