Job summary

RESA Power is recruiting Service Field Technicians in Blaine, MN to service, test and maintain power transmission equipment. Role involves high voltage testing, diagnostics and on-site data collection across 230 kV class systems. Union position with strong OT opportunities and per diem.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 5 years’ relevant experience, and knowledge of NEC, NETA, OSHA, IEEE and NFPA standards. Travel is significant; per diem and lodging provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience; 5 years in a related field.
• Knowledge of NEC and standards such as NETA, OSHA, IEEE, NFPA.
• Strong background in high voltage equipment up to 230 kV; MCCs, breakers, relay testing, infrared scanning.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, start-up and data-collect low, medium and high voltage electrical systems (up to 500kV).
• Test high voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
• Inspect, maintain, test and repair transformers and related equipment (45 KVA to 130 MVA).
• Perform maintenance and reconditioning on low/mid voltage circuit breakers (480V to 15 kV).
• Work with SF6 equipment and gas insulated switchgear where applicable.
• Test and inspect low and medium voltage cable installations.
• Operate high voltage test equipment (e.g., Doble Power Factor) as needed.
• Respond to customer emergencies; rotate on-call; ensure regulatory compliance.
