Job summary

RESA Power, LLC in Blaine, MN, is seeking experienced Electrical Testing Technicians or candidates with electrical backgrounds in engineering or testing. This Full-Time, union position is tied to IBEW Local 110 and benefits from a strong OT structure and per diem while traveling.

Expect 75% travel with daily per diem and hotel covered. The role demands field service, testing and maintenance of power transmission equipment, with competitive hourly wages and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and related field experience.
• 5 years of experience in electrical testing or related field.
• Knowledge of NEC and industry standards such as NETA, OSHA, IEEE and NFPA.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel 75% as required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot and collect data on electrical systems up to 500 kV.
• Test low, medium and high voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
• Inspect and repair transformers, circuit breakers and associated equipment (45 KVA to 130 MVA).
• Maintain and test switchgear up to 15 kV (air-magnetic and vacuum).
• Experience with SF6 equipment and gas insulated switchgear is a plus.
• Test and inspect LV/MV cable installations and test high voltage equipment as needed.
• Perform start-up, troubleshooting and repair on controls and transfer schemes.
• Rotate on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies promptly.
