Voya Energy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Power Systems Engineer to take ownership of the design, build, and test of the power system architecture essential to the development and scaling of our metal-fueled generator technology. You will manage power flow between the generator, battery storage, local load, and the grid, including a switching solution for seamless grid takeover.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 7+ years in system-level power electronics roles
• Direct experience with High Power (25-250kW) Hybrid Inverters and DC-DC conversion
• Familiarity with AC switching/transfer logic and protection coordination
• Proficiency in PCB layout for high-current/high-voltage designs
• Hands-on firmware experience in C/C++ for microcontrollers
• Experience with development testing, failure analysis, and configuration management

Responsabilidades

• Design and bring up Hybrid Inverter architectures and battery management systems for rapid prototyping
• Design switching logic to power onsite loads from hybrid system or grid
• Develop charge-and-switch logic to manage energy between generator, battery, and grid
• Source components across vendors to minimize lead times
• Ensure thermal management and ruggedized packaging for reliability
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and automation teams to define requirements
• Create and maintain system electrical schematics
• Adhere to safety standards and document procedures for new equipment
