Job summary

Fluidstack in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to own converter design and grid-forming control for gigawatt-scale storage and solar projects. You will write inverter specifications, supervise vendor bids, and lead field tests to ensure robust performance across the fleet.

You will work with the Energy Team on PSCAD/EMTP/PLECS analyses, hardware design, and commissioning, driving reliability, safety, and grid compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or related field and strong background in power electronics.
• Experience writing specs for inverters/PCS and enforcing vendor conformance.
• Proven field debugging of converter behavior and firmware changes.

Responsibilities

• Own the power conversion layer across storage and solar projects.
• Write inverter and PCS specifications and verify vendor bid compliance.
• Define converter-level control requirements for firm load and grid-forming operation.
• Lead field energization, commissioning, and testing with real AI load profiles.
• Root-cause trips and firmware regressions; feed fixes back into standard design.
