Job summary

Generac Power Systems is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer V to lead new product development and improve legacy systems. Responsibilities include MV design, system studies, component sizing, and coordinating validation and release while guiding the engineering team.

You will drive schedules, cost targets and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure robust, compliant designs for power generation and conversion products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree inElectrical Engineering or related field; 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with MV systems, power generation, protection coordination, and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of power generation and conversion products from concept to production.
• Develop electrical systems including MV distribution, transformers, switchgear, and cabling.
• Plan and execute validation, performance and regulatory tests including short-circuit and harmonics.
• Ensure compliance with UL/IEC/IEEE/CSA standards and optimize for cost and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers across functions.
