Job summary

DNV Energy Systems is seeking a Senior Resource Integration (RI) Engineer to lead power system studies for renewables and conventional resources. The role involves deep technical work, client interactions, and coordinating deliverables across hybrid office locations in the US.

You will guide junior staff, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and stay current with ISO/RTO requirements and market developments.

Qualifications

• Experience in power systems engineering and studies for generation, transmission, and distribution assets.
• Experience leading technical projects with clear deliverables and client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Perform steady state, dynamic, short-circuit and PSCAD model development for renewable and conventional resources.
• Lead studies for power flow, transient stability, short-circuit, EMT, harmonics, and techno-economics.
• Lead script development and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality, timely deliverables.
• Identify and implement workload-modifications to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with and guide team members on study requirements including billable hours.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for grid reliability and energy markets.
• Conduct generator interconnection studies per ISO/RTO requirements and methodology.
• Guide team on generation, transmission, interconnection, and modeling principles.
• Attend industry stakeholder meetings in person or remote and track market changes.
• Contribute to R&D of new techniques and analytical tools to improve performance.
• Cultivate customer relationships and assist in preparing proposals (RFPs/SOQs).
