Job summary

DNV Energy Systems in North America is seeking a Senior Resource Integration (RI) Engineer in the Renewables & Power Grids group. The RI Engineer will lead critical grid studies, delivering practical solutions for power generation, transmission, and distribution with a strong customer focus.

The candidate will develop steady-state and dynamic models (PSCAD) and guide project teams, while engaging in industry activities and expanding DNV's market impact in North America.

Qualifications

• Lead and deliver grid studies for power systems.
• Develop and refine PSCAD and other models for renewables and conventional generation resources.

Responsibilities

• Perform steady state, dynamic, short-circuit and PSCAD model development for renewable and conventional generation resources.
• Apply experience to lead studies for power flow, transient stability, short-circuit, EMT, harmonics, techno-economics for transmission, distribution, load, and generator applications.
• Lead script development and troubleshooting to ensure high quality, timely deliverables and minimize rework.
• Collaborate with team members on study requirements including technical and commercial items to ensure quality deliverables.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for grid reliability and/or energy markets.
• Conduct and lead technical studies for generator interconnection per ISOs/RTOs requirements.
• Instruct team members on generation, transmission, interconnection, customer and load modeling principles.
• Attend industry stakeholder meetings and stay updated on market changes.
• Contribute to R&D and innovation for new techniques and tools.
