Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Power System Protection Engineer with 11–15 years of experience to join the Protective Relay Settings Team. The role emphasizes P&C design concepts, relay setting calculations, and power system modeling across multiple software platforms.

You will develop protective setpoints and relay files using ASPEN/CAPE/CYME/ETAP/SKM tools, and work with client requirements while guiding team members on complex protection schemes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum 11 years related work experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proven ability to lead small projects including management of schedules, budgets and staffing.

Responsibilities

• Function as a technical subject matter expert and specialist.
• Develop protective setpoints per industry standards and client requirements.
• Work with system modeling software (ASPEN, CAPE, CYME, ETAP, SKM).
• Develop downloadable setpoint files on relay manufacturer platforms (SEL AcSELerator Quickset, GE Enervista).
• Coordinate with internal/external teams on complex projects.
