Job summary

Eversource Energy in Hartford, CT, is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead advanced power system modeling, simulation, and planning studies within the Transmission System Planning team. You will leverage PSSE, PSCAD, and other tools to evaluate transmission options, including PV, storage, HVDC, and IBR integration, while coordinating with ISO-NE and regional stakeholders.

Qualifications

BSEE required with consideration for advanced degrees or certifications (e.g. MSEE, PE).
Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in transmission planning, operational studies, EMT transient analysis, and IBR modeling.
Experience with power system modeling, simulation software, and standards.

Responsibilities

Lead, conduct and present scenario and probabilistic planning studies under various system conditions.
Develop robust, reliable low-cost transmission solutions and present results to stakeholders.
Interface with ISO-NE, transmission owners and Eversource departments to understand needs.
Coordinate studies performed by vendors and integrate conclusions into company initiatives.
Prepare engineering outputs and summaries in reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
Collaborate to develop long-range planning criteria for integrating new technologies (PV, EV, battery storage).
