Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Senior Test Engineer to independently execute testing, commissioning, and validation across transmission, distribution, and generation substations up to 765kV. You will work with advanced protection platforms and contribute to mentoring junior engineers in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in high-voltage protection & protection testing and commissioning.
• Experience with relay platforms such as SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute relay protection testing on substations up to 765kV.
• Test and validate protection elements (line, transformer, bus, feeder) and schemes.
• Perform CT/PT testing, ratios, polarity, phasing, and grounding checks.
• Interpret relay logic, phasors, event reports, and oscilloscope data to identify anomalies.
• Develop test plans, isolation plans, energization plans, and commissioning procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers on protection testing techniques and documentation.
