Job summary

System One, Inc. seeks a Senior Engineering Project Manager in Houston, TX to lead large-scale power projects throughout their full lifecycle from design through to start-up and commissioning.

The role requires 15–20 years in power, strong leadership and communication skills, and a willingness to travel. The position is hybrid, supporting both office and field environments within a contract-to-hire framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for client liaison and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic vision and direction for project staff, ensuring accountability for budget, schedule, and quality of deliverables.
• Lead mid-to-large capital power projects, particularly combined cycle plants with TICs of $100MM+.
• Coordinate work with overseas HVE offices and multidisciplinary teams globally.
• Monitor costs, productivity, and Change Management to maintain profitability and scope integrity.
• Serve as primary client liaison to meet contractual requirements and foster new business opportunities.
• Recruit, train, and coach project personnel for staffing efficiency.
• Perform field walk-downs and travel to project sites as needed.
