Responsibilities

• Monitor costs, productivity, and Change Management to maintain profitability and scope integrity.
• Serve as primary client liaison to meet contractual requirements and foster new business opportunities.
• Recruit, train, and coach project personnel for staffing efficiency.
• Perform field walk-downs and travel to project sites as needed.

Overview

System One is e are seeking a high-caliber Senior Engineering Project Manager to join our Project Management Department in Houston, TX. . This role offers a premier opportunity to lead complex, large-scale design projects for major clients in the power industry. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of project execution, from early-phase design and vendor management through to start-up and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic vision and direction for project staff, ensuring full accountability for budget, schedule, and quality of technical deliverables.
• Lead mid-to-large capital power projects, particularly combined cycle power plants, with a Total Installed Cost (TIC) of $100MM+.
• Manage and coordinate work with overseas High Value Engineering (HVE) offices and multidisciplinary teams globally.
• Monitor, report, and control project costs and productivity; manage Change Management (ECNs) to maintain project profitability and scope integrity.
• Serve as primary client liaison to ensure contractual requirements are met and to foster new business opportunities.
• Recruit, train, and coach project personnel to maintain staffing efficiency and technical excellence.
• Perform field walk-downs and data collection, requiring physical activity and travel to project sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license highly preferred.
• 15–20 years of experience in power projects, with significant experience in combined cycle plants.
• Minimum of 8–10 years in a Project Manager role managing a portfolio of small to large-cap projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; highly organized and self-directed with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel and work in both office and field settings.
